crash course.

good news came to me this week from the mouth of my very own mother.
upon calling her to simply catch up on the happenings in our lives, she informed me that they were overdue for a roadtrip!!

and that the destination was::::

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA!!

such excitement cannot be found in anyone else -- atleast not from my perspective.


Arrival date:
December 24th.

How i cannot wait.

in other news:
work has been picking up again... thank God! i have finished my holiday hiring. now i simply have to work on training on my employees. Black Friday is right around the corner and once that is over, i will be receiving another review from my boss. that will decided whether i get promoted or not. i've come to the decision that even if i'm not good enough to get the promotion, i won't be losing my job -- they would simply hire someone above me.

either way, i'm fine.

i need to round up my friends' addresses so i can mail out christmas cards to everyone. i'm going to be lame this year and not purchase gifts for anyone -- well almost.
there are a select few that i must exchange gifts with. :D

tonight was our churches' weekly youth group service and i had the privilege of not just taking Jasmine (whom i normally transport to church), but also her friend, Jessica. Jessica has only gone to church a couple times and on the ride back expressed her lack of understanding of what was taught. i was able to explain to her what the leader, Ray was talking about and also what we discussed in our small group. Jessica seemed to grasp everything i explained and so i went into a little bit more about what i personally believe and how it lines up with the Word of God. i told Jessica that she should start reading in one of the gospels to understand more about Jesus and what he did for her. i told her that we would talk again about it and that she should call me in the next week if she had questions about what she read.

i just pray that God can use me in this young girl's life.

*Lord, make me a vessel that You have molded and let Your love overflow from me to others!*

chuck e. cheese? and slurpies.

over the weekend i got to do one of my favorite things::

not work!!
AND
watch my 4 younger cousins while my aunt & uncle were out of town.

we had quite the extravaganza.
friday night we went to the theatre to watch High School Musical 3 (Senior Year). i am practically the coolest cousin EVER!

saturday we went to the park AND the children's museum. we had a halloween party to go to that evening, but Melissa got really scared so i brought her and Rebecca home. Allison and Brien stayed because they had friends there -- and their mom said she would bring them home.

Melissa, Becca and i watched Penelope that evening.

it was just a really good weekend.

and fyi: that makes 2 weekends this month that i had off!!!

crazy week.

so this week has been insane.

i finally made it out to albuquerque, new mexico, to see my lovely friend, Mandie! we were going to go to the balloon fiesta, but it was canceled both times we had made our plans. i decided i will just have to go again next year. :D


the drive back home was exhausting and i was running late, so when i picked my cousins up from the restaurant, they were eagerly waiting -- NOT! we arrived late at church...

i didn't get to sleep sunday night until after midnight and my alarm went off a few short hours later (quite literally because i had to be at work at 5am). by tuesday evening i was so tired i could hardly see straight, but somehow i managed to pull off a 16hour day of work! wednesday zumiez opened their doors. and within an hour i determined that it was not at this store that i desire to work!
now i need to talk to tommy to let him know he needs to find a new person to replace me.

and billabong is keeping me. :D

hooray for the upcoming holiday season! and for my review -- i should be getting it on monday! swwweeeetttt.
